Have you ever started to close one chapter of your life just to have it reopen? The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps (Proverbs 16:9). A young couple had quite the surprise when the plans they made didn’t quite match what God had in mind.
Amber and Levi had two beautiful little girls: Lillian and Josey. They thought their family was complete. That’s when everything changed. They found out that Amber was pregnant.
They took it all in stride but were shocked at their ultrasound appointment. The ultrasound showed three heartbeats. Without any fertility treatments, Amber was pregnant with triplets, a rarity.
The couple was shocked, to say the least! Doctors were just as shocked. Naturally occurring triplets only happen once in 10,000 pregnancies.
Amber went into labor a month early and the only option was an emergency c-section. This is where things started to get scary for the young family.
During the operation, Amber started to hemorrhage, and after the three girls were delivered she died twice on the operating table. The doctors used all measures to bring her back including a blood transfusion.
Amber is now recovering well and the couple is enjoying their three little girls that happen to be four pounds each. It turns out that the triplets are the perfect trifecta and have beaten several odds. In addition to the 1 in 10,000 chances they crushed, they are identical: a one-in-two-hundred-million occurrence.
Amber and Levi just might want to buy a lottery ticket while they are at it! Ashley Jones, a friend of the couple, has started a GoFundMe account for the family in an effort to offset medical bills. The support is flowing in as people share the couple’s story.
